What vitamin would I take if I were stranded on a desert island?

Okay, I have to admit…I do have a few favorites.  But…at the top of my list is a vitamin called Quercetin.  Quercetin is a miracle nutrient, found in the skins of apples and oranges, that is a very potent anti-inflammatory.  Remember that old saying..”an apple a day keeps the doctor away?”  Well…quite literally…quercetin has that capability.  In our nasty western diet, we commonly eat foods that are very, very bad for us.  These foods, along with environmental toxins, often cause inflammatory responses in our bodies.  These inflammatory responses show their ugly faces as…diabetes, heart disease, allergies, asthma, ulcers, arthritis, and a host of other stuff.

There is hope for us, though! When taken with Bromelain for extra absorption, it helps to curb inflammation.  I take 1000 mg every day for asthma and allergies.  We cured my son of asthma…he also takes 1000 mg a day of quercetin.  My husband, who has diabetes, also takes it.  My daughter, who gets hives, takes it.  Because we have this miracle supplement in our daily routine, we stay much, much healthier.  It’s close to impossible to get the proper nutrition from diet alone, because with large scale farming operations we have depleted the earth of so many vital nutrients.  Supplements are more important now than ever, and Quercetin is at the top of my list…right along with Vitamin D.
